Blue Oven Doors

Mark and Sarah Frommeyer run their baking operation from a rural farm location in Williamsburg, Ohio, about an hour southeast of Cincinnati. The weekend markets in Cincinnati are a primary source of bread sales.
The six by nine foot hearth oven built for Blue Oven in the spring of 2010 replaces a hand built oven made by Mark of a much smaller size. The Frommeyer’s quickly outgrew the production capacity of this oven after realizing the market potential for artisan breads in their region. They bake a very wide range of bread styles. Their previous oven was faced with hand made tiles glazed to a deep blue colored hue. In order to maintain a similar effect the new oven was faced with tumbled bluestone pavers. The Blue Oven Bakery oven includes insulated drop in and down counterbalanced doors.
